Working on Ammy for a whole year was draining my financial resources quite a bit. So in recent months, I was trying my best to work as a freelance developer, plus thinking about a steady income source. I must admit, that being in my thirties, it’s not easy for me to combine money-work and an active open source development. Thus, Ammy progress has slowed down quite a bit.
Nevertheless, I’m glad to say, that there is a small financial buffer now allowing me to spend more time on Ammy. Current focus will be on C# 6/7 support and fixing compilation issues. After this phase is completed, I’m planning to roll-out a style DSL discussed here: https://github.com/AmmyUI/AmmyUI/issues/23
Xamarin Forms Live XAML update plugin
In other news, I want to announce a tool I’ve been working on. It’s a VS plugin that allows runtime updates of XAML interface in Xamarin Forms apps. It’s really easy to use: install the extension, install NuGet package, and you are good to go! Run your app, modify XAML file, hit CTRL+S – the app is updated in an emulator. I don’t think it can’t be more effortless than that! 🙂

NuGet package: https://www.nuget.org/packages/XamarinFormsLive

If you are a Xamarin Forms developer, please, try it and spread the word. More people using that means more time for me to work on Ammy!
